At The Authentic Indian Kitchen we teach people how to cook Authentic Indian Food.
Shop#5, Civic Court, Dickens Street, Napier.
Cooking food has always been my passion, since I was a little girl helping my mom in her kitchen. It was so delicious. If you ate what came out of her kitchen you were likely to bite your fingers with the food! Well, that was my training school. The sights, sounds and aromas from my mother’s kitchen will be forever embedded in my being. Moms’ passion, the love of cooking, the dedication, plus fantastic original recipes provided the impetus to absorb and learn.
I was born and brought up in Pune, a large industrial city in the state of Maharashtra India.
Maharashtra has many districts each with its’ own differing culinary delights.
One day over a cup of coffee, my best friend thought it would be a great idea to begin cooking classes so more people could share in the enjoyment of this truly wonderful Indian cuisine. With a little publicity and after cooking for a number of private functions where everyone liked the food so much the idea of “The Authentic Indian Kitchen and Cooking Class” was born.
I am also published my first book with the Title “Cooking Authentic Indian Food in New Zealand”, in August 2010. It is available at New World hastings and at Cornucopia.
The recipes are fast, easy and delicious. Perfect for everyday cooking and treats on the side. Also the ingredients are easy to find and use, with plenty of shortcuts to make it very simple to put together a delicious meal within minutes.
Now you can come and personally taste delightful Indian Food at my restaurant in Napier, Hawkes Bay.
